We have been welcoming guests to Casa Blanca – The Tropical House for close to 20 years. Here is a small selection of guests’ reviews for you to read.

The Tropical House is a beautiful place, bursting with nature and surrounded by serenity.  The gardens are a terrific sitting place to enjoy a book or lie down. The pool offers a perfect escape from the heat and is a great place for the kids (and adults) to play in. There is a great natural ventilation system set up, allowing the house to stay cool. Movies are plentiful in the house for extremely wet days. One of the best things about the house, is that it’s located 50m from the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed the beach as well as the closeness to the town and local shops and restaurants. The house is loaded with many other great features and we have taken away many memorable experiences.

What a beautiful home to spend time relaxing and enjoying the peace and tranquility of Port Douglas. The home is very well appointed, the living areas open beautifully to the outdoor entertaining areas, the pool is positioned so that children can be easily supervised from inside or out and the garden has plenty of space and maintains privacy. The beach is a minute walk away…what more could you want on a tropical holiday! We wish we could have stayed longer.

With three teenage children the luxury of space within the house, and due to the large well kept garden, was great. Lying in a hammock and reading a book whether by the pool or in the garden is very relaxing.  It is a short walk to the magnificent Four Mile Beach where a swim in the sunshine is reinvigorating. The house is well appointed with all we needed and the tropical atmosphere with warm breezes wafting through was soothing. Port Douglas provided great weather, great holiday fun, and based at a great house made it even better. We would definitely return.

Casa Blanca – the Tropical House was the perfect place for our group to stay and enjoy Port Douglas. We had a girls’ week with family and friends. So much to see and do and having the beautiful house to come back to and relax at around the pool or in a hammock in the garden was just how I expected our holiday to be. The shuttle bus across the road also came in very handy and was so convenient. Ann is a pleasure to deal with and thanks to Lee, the caretaker of the house, for her lovely welcome. We will definitely be back!

Our family recently stayed for a week at Casa Blanca and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Casa Blanca was incredibly spacious and comfortable and contained everything we needed from books, magazines and open areas to relax, to a generous kitchen with all the mod cons. The gardens are as big as the house and absolutely stunning. There are hammocks provided and the pool with the little waterfall was wonderful. It only took 5 minutes to walk to the beach from the accommodation and it was a quick drive into town. We hired a car and were able to easily access the boats to go out to the Great Barrier Reef and other spectacular places such as Mossman Gorge and the Daintree. It was always a pleasure returning to our accommodation at the end of each day. Thank you for making our stay so relaxing and comfortable and we are looking forward to visiting again.

My extended family and I had a holiday planned. Ranging in ages from 4 to 64, we wanted a place that could let us catch up yet give us our own space and privacy. From the moment we entered Casa Blanca, we knew we had struck holiday-rental jackpot. From the comforting and inviting living areas, to the generously appointed kitchen, to the spacious gardens with the hammocks under the palm trees and the stunning pool – the entire experience was faultless. The proximity to town was great; we could duck out for a morning coffee, stock up on a few basics and come back to the house to lounge and laze. A bookshelf stacked with good reads, piles of tempting foodie magazines that inspired us to cook simple yet wonderful meals, games and lego for the little kids, even pool toys – everything has been thought of and provided. Port Douglas is one of my favourite places, and this was the perfect house to relax, rest and have a truly lovely holiday. Thank you to Ann and Lee.

We were welcomed by Ann, the owner herself who was obviously very proud of what she had achieved there. She had every right to be. It is the epitome of calm, both the house itself (which is beautifully decorated and equipped) and the garden. We spent hours relaxing in the secluded hammocks in the garden area while the kids really enjoyed the swimming pool. The house is only a few minutes from the beach along which one can walk into Port Douglas in about 45 minutes (although this is the kind of place where time is not important). Port Douglas itself is a quaint small town with some really good restaurants as well as a lively market (I believe on a Sunday morning). It was also a great base for exploring the area and Anne has taken time to put together a fairly extensive portfolio of the many things to do locally.
We were delighted that we chose to stay there. Unfortunately as we live on the other side of the world we are not likely to return any time soon. However if we every get back to Port Douglas we would be delighted to stay there again. We could not recommend it highly enough.

We have been travelling to Port Douglas for over 8 years now and would have to say that Casa Blanca was by far the best house that we have stayed in. The space both inside and out meant that both the adults and six children had somewhere to go to relax. There was no pressure to entertain children as they had ample space to play and explore. The pool is lovely and provided plenty of fun for the children. Ann and Lee were very easy to deal with and also provided any extra advice that we required. We would certainly recommend Casa Blanca in the future and can’t wait to go back ourselves. From our family to yours Ann, a very big thank you for allowing us to share in the experience of your lovely holiday home.
